Hello everyone, let’s continue sharing more about our game. I would like to discuss the weather and the surrounding world in today’s update.
As you already know, the setting of Dreadweave is a snowy town in the icy wastelands of the north. The town was built as the northernmost port on the continent, and due to its remoteness, it has become an ideal location for conducting secret experiments. Who among spies would be interested in such a desolate place?
What kind of weather can we expect in such picturesque locations and how will we keep warm?
In the town, it is so cold that boiling water thrown into the air instantly turns to ice

All I can say is that you must survive in the cold. The extreme north is an unforgiving place, so you’ll have to equip yourself with warm clothing. In the real world, it’s cold, the weather is often unpredictable, and your time is limited by the temperature gauge. Running warms you up but increases your heartbeat, which could attract monsters, so maintaining a balance is crucial.
But how will you stay warm, you ask? Initially, we wanted to implement crafting campfires or something typical like in other survival games, but then we realized it would be too distracting. Here’s how it will work in the game for now: there are pre-placed campfires on the map, a small portion of which are already burning (leftovers from previous unfortunate survivors who tried to keep warm). This means you can find lit campfires and warm yourself by them, or you can light a fire yourself, but for that, you’ll need the “matches” item, which cannot be crafted and must be found.
The weather can change unpredictably at any moment during the game

In addition to the cold, we will also face unpredictable weather, which can shift from clear skies to an icy blizzard at any moment. The game features several types of weather:
- Clear/Cloudy: When the snow has somewhat settled, visibility is excellent, and the cold isn’t too severe. With warm clothing, you won’t freeze too much.
- Light Snow: The snow falls slowly, and it’s still not too cold.
- Blizzard: Comes on suddenly, quickly covering everything around. The player’s speed decreases, and it gets colder due to the piercing wind.
Harsh? Indeed. But we are in the extreme north, after all. One significant advantage of the snow is that monsters leave tracks in it, allowing you to detect them in advance.
Day and night cycle

But it’s not just the changing weather that awaits us in the game; there is also a dynamic day and night cycle. At night, it will certainly be colder, and heaven forbid you find yourself in a snowstorm at night when visibility is poor, and the temperatures are much lower. The time of day will persist based on your gameplay. This means if you leave the town, you’ll return at the same time, plus any time spent at your base.
And what about the wrong side?

Alright, you might say, we understand it’s cold, and we need to dress warmly, but what about the flip side? Although the flip side doesn’t have a piercing cold, your time there will still be limited because the air in that alien world is toxic, and humans can’t stay there for too long. You’ll need to find a gas mask to extend your time in that environment.
So, you’ve learned even more about surviving in the world of Dreadweave. Be sure to use this knowledge to avoid freezing and to deal with the monsters! See you next time.
